Why should I join CHS?

Membership in the Colorado Herpetological Society is exciting and fun! Our members all have one thing in common: a love for reptiles and amphibians. The Society exists to further the cause of herp conservation, to help animals in need, and to promote herp education anywhere we can.

How do I join?

Simply download the attached Member Enrollment Form, complete and print it, and bring it to our next club meeting or event. If you'd like, you can e-mail the comlpeted form or your information to membership@coloherps.org. Welcome to the group!

Do I have to pay to be a member?

We kindly ask each of our members to make an annual contribution of at least $10.
Although nobody affiliated with the Colorado Herpetological Society receives any pay for their work, it does take money to exist:
  • To pay the annual fees associated with remaining a certified Colorado nonprofit corporation.
  • To sponsor the cost of medicating and feeding rescued pets until they can be rehabilitated (if necessary) and eventually adopted.
  • To pay for meeting location services.
  • To pay for booth space at conventions and expos. Many times we are granted this space by the organizers since we are non-profit, and we are always very grateful for their generosity.
  • To pay for hosting and maintenance of the CHS web site.
  • To purchase materials held in our constantly-growing CHS library.
  • To pay for advertising.
  • To pay for operating expenses such as banking fees, office materials, and computer software.
You may make your donation in person at our monthly meeting, or you can contribute via PayPal on our payments page.
